Undue Debt Unleash Hope

"Undue" Medical Debt with Compass Church

About 1 in 3 American Adults have medical debt.

At Compass Church, we want our special offerings to extend beyond the walls of the church, helping those directly in our community. This Easter, we’re campaigning through Undue Medical Debt to eliminate approximately $2.3 million in medical debt across Missouri – starting right here in Cape.

Undue Medical debt is a national non-profit that buys up medical debt for pennies on the dollar, meaning for every dollar donated, about $100 of debt is erased. Their sole mission is to provide relief—no strings attached—to those burdened by overwhelming medical expenses.

Our goal is to raise at least $15,000 to relieve debt directly in our area. Will you join us in lifting this burden?

How does the campaign work?

Compass Church will collect a special offering, and 100% of the funds will be sent to Undue Medical Debt to be used for debt relief.

Undue Medical Debt will use the funds to purchase and forgive medical debt for individuals in our community and across Missouri. Those whose debt is forgiven will receive a letter notifying them of the relief.

After you donate, you’ll receive a receipt from Compass Church. Later, we’ll follow up to share the total amount raised and the impact it made in relieving medical debt. We will continue collecting donations after Easter, so stay tuned for updates!

Our campaign will focus on relieving debt across Missouri, Kentucky and Illinois, starting right here in Cape!

When Undue Medical Debt buys up debt, they focus on individuals who earn 4x or below the federal poverty level, or have medical debt that is 5 percent or more of their annual income.

Undue Medical Debt purchases and forgives debt in bulk portfolios rather than selecting individual cases. While we aren’t able to choose individuals directly, we hope this campaign brings relief to those who need it most.
