The Warming Center is going to be a Cooling Center This Summer! Grace United Methodist Church has graciously opened their doors to allow the Warming Center to host a midday lunch each Friday from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM for our unhoused neighbors. This will give people a place to get out of the heat, enjoy a meal, and spend time in community.
You can sign up to provide a meal or to volunteer to help serve lunch, clean up, and hang out with guests! Make a volunteer account with the Cape Warming Center to get started!
JUNE 14-JULY 26 - Summer Bible Study

For 6 weeks, we’ll be working through Simon Peter: Flawed But Faithful Disciple by Adam Hamilton. Compass will provide the books!
Peter left everything to follow his teacher and possessed a passion that would change the world. That’s one way to describe Peter. Here’s another: poor, uneducated, quick-tempered, and full of doubts and fears. Doesn’t even sound like the same man.
And that’s the point of Simon Peter, a new book and six-week adult Bible study by Adam Hamilton. Peter was just an ordinary guy who heard and followed God’s extraordinary call. Discover how you, too, have special gifts, talents, and abilities that God can use to make a difference today.

Whether you’re looking to cool off, play hard, or just chill with other families, there’s something for every kid—and every grown-up too!

JULY 11 - Rummage Sale Fundraiser

We’re having a rummage sale! Proceeds will go to help a local family in need. Donations will be sold at reasonable prices!
If you’ve got items to de-stash, or things you don’t use or need anymore, donate items for us to sell! Contact Bev Rhodes at 573-270-9989 to coordinate. We could also use some folks to help set up and run the sale, so let Bev know if you’re available to help!

JULY 28 - Street Level Meal Prep

We value serving our local community, which is why we have committed to preparing meals once a month for Street Level’s Meal Train for Homeless Neighbors. Street Level is a local non profit dedicated to helping our unhoused neighbors in Cape Girardeau. A few times a week, street level partners with various organizations and individuals to serve hot meals to over 30 neighbors. If you’d like to participate, join us on the third or last Tuesday of the month! To stay in the loop, you can also join the Street Level Meal Prep group in our app!
SEP 6 - Worship Without Walls

For the first Sunday in September, we’ll be taking worship outside the walls of the church to serve our community! We’ll have various service projects going across Cape during our usual worship time. We can’t wait to see what God does through this day of service!
